Anyone have any suggestions? Essentially I need a product that gives volume, dries fast and hard so that the hairs don't move with the wind and I of course don't want the wet look.

I think hair mousse is the ideal product but I have no idea what to get. Actually, I've heard many times that minoxidil foam is very good in this regard and if I don't get any suggestions is what I'm gonna get, I hate perfumes and I want to try the foam anyway.

The problem with most hair gels and waxes is that the hairs dry flat due to the weight of the product, I need to style with my fingers in order to make the comb-over work, so it has to dry fast and hard while the hairs are still up.

I use this stuff:

night-rider-paste.jpg

It's like a solid paste, but it has no water in it at all either, so your hair wont get moist and curl up later. It applies dry so it doesnt look wet either. You'll only need to use a little bit, rub/spread it in your hands and then apply it by running your fingers and palms through your hair.

The hold is pretty good. It's not super stiff like dried up gel, but it gives you texture without making your hair look thinner than it is.

That's exactly the type of texture I want, a firm choppy matte look.

Yup, same effect I go for, and the Kevin Murphy stuff is awesome. I'd give it a go. iIts expensive but it will last a long time seeing how you dont need to use a lot of the product.

I used to use Bedhead by TIGI, but that stuff is way too sticky and makes hair look a little wet (essentially beeswax).

Got2b volumising hair powder. Works wonders. Just sprinkle in your hair lightly and then lossely style your hair in way u want it. Then apply whatever gel/puddy you usually use.

4quid but lasts ages. Its brilliant

I use Hanz De Fuko Quicksand in damp hair it helps thin hair look fuller, has great hold, and also can act as a dry shampoo. Then I use Hanz De Fuko Claymation dry matte finish with medium to high hold. Doesn't take a whole lot of product as well I buy one of each every 5 months or so.

I find the minoxidil foam does work really well, similar to mousse and it dries fast.

After I shower and towel dry my hair, I put the minoxidil in, then position my hair how I generally want it to be. After it dries, I fluff it up a bit, put a small amount of wax/styling product in, and lightly hairspray the "combed over" parts so they aren't at risk of being exposed.

I just bought it, thanks for the suggestion. How much is it in Canada? Here it's a 23 euros, which is pretty standard for salon products.
