Hey guys I've been taking finasteride for a couple of days. What I'm wondering is if I'm possibly allergic to finasteride?! :( :(

my nose feel stuffy everytime im about to go to sleep.

i cant tel wether it started feeling stuffy before or after finasteride

i have no other symptoms such as hives, trouble breathing etc

I don’t think you have an allergic reaction to finasteride...

i have something similar , mines called vasomotor rhinitis (yea its doctor's diagnosis not internet one ) , anyway my nose gets stuffy cause of the blood flow which makes the inner thingies expand, it happens when i go to bed because of the posture that increases the flow . Its is affected by stress , very hot/cold weather , maybe even some foods .I dont think finasteride affected it at all tbh

I hope it'll warn off. Been doing some sh*t lately that might've caused a cold. I read about finas sides, including a stuffed nose?! That's why I was worried

Are you on any meds? finasteride, etc?

yes im on finasteride topical but this problem started years before i touched it .But it could cause a stuffed nose , if it is listed in the side effects , and just not happened to me

maybe try cb if you have the budget ? In theory it should be safer , at least no long term effects

I'm trying to push myself to take finasteride 0.5mg, it would be really unfortunate if I took finasteride, develop sides that persist even with discontinuing.

I'm currently a NW2. It's so strange, I recently started applying onion juice to my scalp in conjunction to dermaroller, when it's on it makes my hair look thin beyond understanding (water doesn't even make it look that way). Perhaps it's the clumping? Last thing I'd want to do is cope until there is no room for action.

persistent sides are rare , but its also hard to evaluate if you actually are getting sides or it is nocebo ,i mean if you dont even take any medication and keep thinking "is everything the same as before ?" all day long , you will start freaking out i believe .However finasteride sides are obviously existent .
Not sure what onion juice does tbh , but imo , if you have at least slightly agressive balding you either have to try 5ar inhibitors , topical antiandrogens or give pgd2 inhibitors a shot. If you lose hair in a slow rate you can even control it with minoxidil for quite a long time

@random phone charger hey, I've been on finasteride for like a week now. No sides, maybe too early to tell? But I wouldn't worry about sides if I were you.

If you hve a feeling you'll take finasteride in the future, I highly recommend for you to take it now instead. It's hard to regrow what you've lost.

What if there isn't medicine that finasteride users could alternatively use? What is the likelihood that the current climate of hair loss research studies prompted you to get on finasteride or frankly make a hasty decision?

Should I coordinate plans to preserve my sperm before consuming finasteride? Hell, who am I kidding I'm just going to get on it; thanks dude.

Think positively when you get on it. I've been on it for a week now, and my hair feels fuller already lol. Who knows how it'll be in a month.
If you get any sides, you can always quit

Ahh, I remember my "i'll never get on finasteride" days. Good times.

@Retinoid wtf is your problem? just by googling finasteride stuffed nose you'll find that a stuffy nose is legit a side effect of finasteride. it affects you sinuses thus making your nose feel stuffed.

Stuffy nose > mouthbreathing > affecting your health & face

so i dont get it. do you seriously think im trolling in regards to this or what?
