I'm 24 years old, been experiencing hair loss since I was 20. At first it was really bad, then I got on propecia after about 6 months and it stabilized, filled back in a bit. Now, several years later, I've noticed that in particular my hairline has been slowly going back still. My vertex seems to sometimes be better and sometimes be worse, but has generally remained stable with a small thin spot.
Anyway, I went to get a new prescription for propecia today, and my Doctor recommended I also try minoxidil to complement it. I know that is the recommended path here, but I always considered minoxidil to be a bit too much of a hassle. Now, though, I'm thinking about giving it a try. What I'm wondering is, if I try it for, say, six months, and decide I don't want to continue, will stopping minoxidil (but staying on propecia) have adverse effects relative to where I would be if I just stayed on propecia alone the same time? I hope my question is clear. I know everyone is different and it's not always clear, but does anyone have experience with a situation like this? Thanks for any advice.
