So my question pertaining to the topic title is: Will my past 2 years use of rogaine help the finasteride kick in better/faster? Is it even worth taking rogaine anymore? Should I just stop rogaine after seeing results from finasteride or will that mess up my results? Just wondering, it seems nobody here ever has started finasteride after being on rogaine for years, so I can't find any information.

Technically after you stop using rogaine you will loose the hair you gain , and I believe practically its true as well , I highly recommend you to keep to use your rogaine even if you are using finasteride or want to use it , The way that rogaine regrowth the hair is
completely different than finasteride , however some believes you can get more regrowth with rogaine than finasteride , but its not accurate. For your question about using rogaine and then finasteride can kick the result ? Its really hard to say and it different by person to person but I believe if you use rogaine and finasteride together you get the best result ! just don't give up with your minoxidil please. ! I had the experience.

Starting finasteride is a very good idea. minoxidil will not stop hair loss over the longterm so it is necessary. However do NOT stop the minoxidil. If you do this you will lose all the gains you got from the minoxidil. finasteride will not maintain any minoxidil gains because the two work differently.
