I've been reading the hairloss web sites for a few years, and seen my top gradually thin. After much fear and anxiety, I've started proscar one week ago ( cut into 1mg pieces ).
No side effects at all yet, of course, but give it a few months.
What I find interesting is you hear of all these side effects from finasteride - shedding, itchy scalp, sore testicles, decrease ejaculate, decrease libido, limp penis, racoon eyes, gynaecomastia.
I actually have checked if I had these symptoms before i started proscar - and my asessment has been ( b4 starting the tablets )
Yep - my scalp has always been itching terribly
Yep - my the bags under my eyes look a bit darker today
Yep - I've had sheds long before ( thats why my hair is here )
hmm - my erections could be softer today
hmm - my sex drive was down last week
I guess the point is, one can really become too preoccupied with every changing symptom in their body, and atrribute it to proscar. I've had some of these symptoms even before I started the tablet, and I can understand why one can associate a multitude of symptoms after they start taking the tablet.
Don't get me wrong, I believe people have had serious side effects from propecia.
I post here to inform you of my commencement, and will try to post updates on how it goes.
The onyl change I've had, is a little bit of optimism, that I have started the battle. I won't let my hair ruin my life, give it fight, if it doesn't work, be happy with who I am.
