After over a year of deliberation, I took Propecia for the first time this afternoon. I cut the pill into uneven "halves" and took the larger segment. There was some pacing back and forth and it was as if the pill weighed 100lbs, but I mustered the nerve and downed it.

About an hour later, I fell to the floor and my stomach ruptured. Before I became completely unconscious, I vaguely remember seeing a little green, weasel-like creature egress from the opening. He did the Cupid Shuffle, if my memory serves me right.

Nah, none of that happened. Habeas Corpus would have a field day if it did. He had probably pulled open his symptoms sheet and was punching that in. So far no salient side effects. I may have a little bit of testicular ache, but it could be in my head. I'm more at peace with myself than I imagined I'd be. Hopefully everything works out for the better, I will keep you guys posted. Still wary of sides, of course.

The biggest question at the moment is whether 0.5mg every day is the best way to take it. I can't afford a full 1mg Propecia tablet every day, unless I cut the unscored generic Proscar.

It cost me $74 from Walmart for a one month supply of brand name Propecia (so essentially 37 a month for me).

I live in America.

Thanks.

I dont think you will regret the decision but it is kind of a big commitment just having to always take a pill doesn't sit well with me but its the only shot at keeping as much hair as you can.

Wat!!?!? How big of a commitment is it pop a pill every day after you brush your teeth at night? That's, like, 15 seconds of work. That's 91 minutes and 15 seconds of work EVERY YEAR to keep your hair. That is NOT a big committment. I've been on it for 4 years, which means I've spent all of 6 hours and 10 minutes over the course of that time........to save my hair. That 6 hours had given me back YEARS of hair. Literally.

Best return on investment I've had in my life (so far).

Seriously...."big commitment"???
