Started Finastride 1mg One Month Ago - Is It Normal To Feel Like Shedding In First Month Or So?

Hey guys, for 2 years I just used minoxidil. It was ok but not dramatic enough results for me to improve my hair after 2 years. Though I must admit there was mild improvement.

Most effected areas for me is crown and temples.

I introduced Finastride 1MG into my routine exactly 1 month ago. Since being on Finastride, my front hairline really to me looks visiaully thinning and I can see my scalp more than before. My templates I feel have gone thinner and receeded too. To see this is obviously uncomfortable. Before I always had my hair up as I like it like that, since my temples around 1 year ago became too uncomfortable for me when hair was up I started styling my hair more down and to a side.

Now since 1 month of finastride even if I do my hair down and to a side, the temple area on my left fluffs our and any wind can expose it very quickly.

My question is, is it normal to experience this in the first month? Should it continue into the second also? What's exactly happening, the same type of concept like minoxidil when you first use it where your told that its bringing out the dead hair cells and regrowing them with new thicker ones?

I'm having the same issue and I'm in month 2. I hope it will stabilize and give me some slight sickening.

Oh man that is not what I was hoping to read :(

Slight sickening? Thickening I'm guessing you meant

I've spoken to a few people who had success with Finastride on this forum and they all said it's normal but when I put in Minoxidil first I did feel that the so called shedding was less then what I'm experiecing in the first month of Finastride, this first month feels "heavy" - I don't really notice it when I shower like something dramatic, it's just I can visually see it on my forehead and the balance of my hair being harder to style everyday

When starting any medication known to treat male pattern baldness, realize that your hair will always become worse before it gets better. Just stay positive bro and don't try to over think it. Ride it out and you'll be much better of in the end :) Best of luck.

Thanks man, any experiences with yourself?

Yes when I first started minoxidil there were some what felt like losing hair but that was very minimal

With Finastride, after 1 month it really feels much more to me because I can see things I did not before just in 1 month but of course after the reviews on this forum I want to ride this out I just hope this doesn't go on until next month too

I haven't experienced the dreaded Finasteride shedding stage simply because I have never taken it, although I did experience shedding when I started minoxidil.
