Hello,

I tried proscar today for the first time this morning, I am a healthy 28 year old, I felt fine all day. Tonight I felt some lack of sensation down below and it took longer than usual getting it up, but after about 15-20 minutes was able to finish the job, though perhaps also suffered from less volume. It did worry me a bit and now I'm reading about all the issues other people have experienced. Should I quit now to ensure this does not persist or continue and hope it subsides?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

It took u 15-20 min due to the fact thay you were so conscious about getting the erection. finasteride sides wouldn't present themselves so fast. Either way the decision Is yours but imo you have to at least give it at least 1 or 2 months so you could see how your body adjusts to having less dht. Ex: when you go on a diet it's hard to portion your servings and not eat junk and you may feel weaker and more tired your first couple of days due to less carb and fat intake that your body is accustomed too. After about 2 ot 3 weeks of following a diet regimen you're body knows how to work with thay amount of food you got it used to. Same thing has to be done for finasteride... you honestly have a 99.9% chance of sides goinf away less than a month after you stop. Don't think about it too much man but if it gets to a point where the sides are unbearable for you just stop, you know your body better than any of us. Good luck man!

I had side effects from finasteride for about the first week then they subsided and honestly I think that was probably psychological. If you are afraid that the sides are going to happen then you are more likely to see sides. I think you should stay on finasteride and take the advise given to you from g.i joey

Sides could not manifest in under a day. That's literally impossible. You psyched yourself out is all that happened. Stop reading finasteride horror stories and give your body actual time to react.

I got a bad fever after about two weeks. Oh wait, so did my entire family as we had a nasty flu.

I would not stop. I talked to an dermatologist who is specialized in hair loss treatment. He told me that he prescribed finasteride to several thousand men trough out the years and said that you have to give your body some time to adjust to the drug and don't panic yourself about those horrorstorries online. He told me that there are cases where people expierince pain in the balls or breast area when beginning the therapy but those things subside within a 1-2 weeks or a little longer. He said that you stick to the drug at least 2-3 month to see wether you have real adverse effects or not. He also recommend if people are too afraid they could lower their dosage to 0,5 mg and increase from there on

I'm sorry but I think it is unlikely that one dose of finasteride gave you immediate ED sides.

I would not quit after a day, no. Give it at least a couple of weeks for your body to adjust but mainly try not to think about it and stop monitoring to a minute level. Just use sensible judgement.

If you're convinced that you have sides after a couple of weeks, consider lowering the dose or stopping for a period of time and then restarting.

If sides persist after you have tried the above, you may have to look at alternative routes.
