Sporadic use of Minoxidil?

Just curious if any bros out there have used minoxidil once per day, or even once every other day. So on and so forth.

27 y/o guy here.. NW2. NW1.5 on good stretches/hair days.. Hairline has always been higher than normal and my hair loss is mild. At age 20 I was sure I'd be a NW3/4 by this age and I've somehow maintained without doing much for my hair except a few supplements. I've recently started taking a better supplement regimen. Fish oil, A good hair/skin/nails vitamin, MSM, Saw Palmetto.. Milk thistle just for liver support.

I've been taking MSM for a year and a half and truly believe it does help hair, I've added these other supplements recently, but have taken some for brief stretches in the past. I've also been using Nizoral 2% for a few weeks now. Can't say for certain I'll get help with hair loss/growth with Nizoral, but I'm inspired by the studies. I also am inspired by the way it's making my hair and scalp feel/look. If anything it's a good shampoo and I'll continue to use it as directed.

My hair has been maintaining well for years without support, I've now decided to try to boost the maintenance and maybe seek a bit more regrowth. I'm wondering if the use of Minoxidil at night every other day or every 3 days has been done by anyone with any kind of success.

Any thoughts from anyone on this subject are appreciated..TIA Mahfockkas.

I don't really know much about minoxidil, however from the videos I've seen it has a good effect on hair.
It was a bit of a faff when I was on it for about a week, putting it on of a morning and night, I didn't notice and bad smells/texture to my hair like from what I've ready but I did get red skin where I was applying it, so I decided to stop.

I haven't seen anyone post a video from sporadic use, only constant use, so I'm unsure, however though people report that their hair loss returns around 2-4 weeks after stopping it? so you may be okay with what you've stated!
Hope it works anyway! :)

- Just curious, what's MSM?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylsulfonylmethane

^^^ URL for MSM. It's basically a form of sulfur. I'm a believer that it helps with many things, hair included.. even if "minor"

I'm kinda wanting to experiment with minoxidil.. start it off very slowly.. once every few days for several months. Assess and then proceed accordingly. I'm in no need for a miracle right now as my hair is solid. I just want to act now before I find myself on the brink of no return suddenly.

Yeah I know that feeling, I've been reading up on hairloss talk lingo, I've just looked at what "NW1" means, after looking at a few photos I'd say my hair is at NW1, however prevention is key, right?
One of my friends went from an outstanding head of hair to "the island" and wearing caps all the time, he's only 22.
Most of my friends though are rocking comb overs, seems like me and another friend are the lucky ones who's only experienced VERY slight thinning since we where 18!

I use minoxidil once per day, and once per day is fine. Every other day or less often is not recommended because essentially you'll be constantly stopping and starting it... as it's effective for almost 24 hours.

Once per day has been effective for me. It's definitely a more effective drug than nizoral, and probably everything else you're taking, for hair.

If you don't mind me prying, yetti.. How long have you used minoxidil? What is your experience with it?

Not prying! I've used it since the beginning of October, once a day, 2-3 hours before going to bed every night. I use the Rogaine liquid. I've found it easy and quick to apply, once I got the hang of it. I use a lot of it, as I only apply it once a day. I've had no allergic reaction, and significant hair regrowth at the crown. I also use it at the hairline and have some regrowth there too. So, my experience with it has been excellent thus far, especially as I've only used it for 3 months.

When I first started using it there was some shedding for a few weeks.
