i still am not sure what spironolactone is and when or why you would use it, can anyone shed some light on this.

Seriously, search for spironolactone here and on yahoo or whatever search engine you prefer. Go to http://www.minoxidil.com too. There's tons of info out there. That's how I found it and I just started spironolactone.
