I got spironolactone 5% in the liquid version, but have since read that it is not effective. Can I just add this to a bottle of lotion and make spironolactone cream? Also, is adding cologne acceptable to get rid of the awful smell? It's an 8 oz. bottle, if i can add lotion to make cream, how much should I add?

Also, I've added 6 Avacor tablets to my minoxidil and put it on the hairline, does anyone think this would work? It has grape seed extract and saw pawmetto in them.

Also, do I have to refrigerate spironolactone?

After reading through the spironolactone thread, I think I might mix it with dermovan, any thoughts?

Doesn't avacor have minoxidil in it? I thought the other sh*t avacor puts in it makes it less effective than plain old 5% minoxidil.

i'm interested in knowing why you aren't going to give spironolactone a chance? There are a lot of people who have claimed that spironolactone has worked for them. I've been using it for a while with min 5%. I've been having good results and my hair is looking better than it did when i was on propecia for a few years,.

I want to use the spironolactone, especially on the hairline, but I read that it is not effective when it is in the liquid form, which is what I have. However, it is effective in the cream form, which is what I want to make. I was just wondering how to turn my liquid into a cream so that it would be effective. I was thinking about mixing it with dermovan, but wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions.

Jayman, the Avacor system comes with tablets and it has minoxidil 5% solution. From what I could tell, the 5% Avacor minoxidil is the same as the Kirkland 5% that I just bought.

okay i guess that i read that wrong. I use the cream. I also have heard that the liquid doesn't do much.

I'm not too familiar with avacor so I can't be much help there. The things I have heard about it are negative though.

Tainted,

I was under the impression that saw palmetto is not effective at stopping hair loss. While it does inhibit both types of 5ar, I thought that it was only effective for the prostate, but that inhibition leads to the misconception that it stops hair loss as well?

My situation is, I have left over Avacor capsules which I used to take before I found this website. What I did, was split the capsules open, and put some of them in my minoxidil bottle to apply topically. I was just wondering if this would work since it also has grape seed extract in them.

ah i see your point. you're doing it just for the gse. i don't see why it wouldn't be any different from pouring plain old gse capsules in.
