spironolactone is mainly known as a blocker of the androgen receptor, preventing circulating DHT from attaching to the receptor on the follicle There is some dispute about whether it is also an inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase (I have seen one study saying yes, and one saying no).

If it is not, this would seem to leave hair vulnerable to DHT that is produced in the scalp itself. I am hoping to switch from Dr. Lee's to S5 spironolactone. I know the caffeine in S5 is thought to hamper 5-alpha reductase. I am wondering, however, why there is not a spironolactone cream on the market that contains zinc and B6. This would seem to give the benefits of spironolactone plus Revivogen/Zix all in one vehicle. Any ideas?

zinc or the b6 wont make much difference, sprio cream itself is pretty weak.

How does it compare to Super Zix II in your opinion? (If you know.)
