Hello everybody

My name is Peter, I am 23 years old. My current hair status is diffuse NW6 (almost no hair on top). So I shaved it all off half a year ago. Balding started at 18 and continued rapidly. Since half a year I am also taking propecia (without side effect except maybe the oily skin) to keep what little hair is left.

I am shaving with a good quality electric razor. The problem is my scalp (and forehead) get extremely oily just after 1 hour after showering. Nothing has helped. I have some sort of acne on my scalp (and forehead) or maybe folliculitis... Currently I am in treatment with a dermatologist. Not there is nothing that helps with the oil, except .... accutane... Now accutane effects on oily skin are most of the time not permanent. That's why I don't really think should try it.

Since I heard Dutasteride (Avodart) helps some people with oilyness I would like to try a topical form of dht blocking. No such product exists... except this spironolactone S5 cream. No idea who produces it or if it really works (for oily skin). For some time I took minoxidil. It was good to my skin, but only where I applied it. It looked really stupid with "normal, dryish" skin on top where the minoyidil was and the extremely oily skin at the sides and back of the head (shaved head).

How does spironolactone S5 cream look on the head? is it detectable? It says it's odourless but some people say it smells bad. And if I use it on my whole head, am I gonna need 4 of these per month? :)

Would like to hear some opinions.

Thank you!
Peter

Saborea ate caused by high hormone levels, so finasteride may work on that as well

Why not try brother... dont rely so much on many oral drugs it has lots of side effects. You need to consult a doctor before using Avodart since it is medically used for benign prostate hyperplasia.

thank you for the answers.

@ Beingbaldsucksass: if finasteride did anything for me, then it was to make my skin and skalp more oily (but I still take it for hair loss).

@nikemata: I'm not yet trying because this little cream is expensive if i have to apply it to my whole scalp. I live in Europe so the shipping cost will be heavy on my money. And as I already asked, I need to know if that stuff stinks and if it shines or makes my scalp even more greasy.

I have not tried it. I am still new.. Just give it a try though. How much would it cost you for the shipping? Isn't it not available in your area?
