spironolactone: Minimum time to leave on scalp

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how long spironolactone takes to 'soak in'. If I apply it and then shower it out an hour afterwards, is it still effective? It's mainly my morning 'dose', as i don't like to leave it on to go to work (due to the smell). My night application is fine - I apply it and sleep with it in.
Any help would be appreciated.

i wouldnt think an hour is enough but im just thinking of the minimum minoxidil time which is 2-4 hours.

spironolactone is just a pain in the morning really. i dont think many people actually
put it on then. the only time i can see it being ok is if you have a buzzed
head but i just put some on when i get in from work and before bed.

i think some would be absorbed after an hour but youre probably wasting some.

thing about spironolactone is that you'll get the best results if you apply it 3 times a day, 2 at least. it doesnt last very long at active concentrations in the scalp as i recall.

I've talked to Dr. Lee about his 5% spironolactone cream and he suggested that it stay on your head without washing for at least the length of one night's sleep. So, I dunno, I guess that's around 6-8 hours?

No matter what, though, I'd suggest NOT washing it off at least within 4 hours of putting it on. I know that sucks, because spironolactone cream really doesn't make your hair look good. I only use it at night, but to tell you the truth, I'm not sure how effective that is.

Good luck!
