spirolactone question

I'm using Spirolactone 5% lotion from Dr. Lee and applying it to my hairline which is the thinnist on my scalp. Well I wanted to use it on the other parts of my scalp( the top) and getting it on my scalp is difficult due to denser hair in that area. Since it is a lotion it is difficult. Well is there a way I can dilute the spironolactone 5% ( make it thinner) with out screwing up the spironolactone formula? Or should I simply stick with the 2% spirolactone topical solution for those areas. The spironolactone 5% would be of choice compared to 2% spironolactone due to treat hairloss. I'll stick with 2% if I have to but 5% spironolactone sounds better and 5% doesn't smell either. What do you all think? Any advice? :? :? :hairy:

I just thought of something. I usually apply Xandrox first before spironolactone 5%. Well if I were to mix a small amount of spironolactone with 1ml of xandrox and apply it instead of doing the xandrox and then the spironolactone do you think that would be okay? No I do not intend on mixing the spironolactone 5% lotion with the entire Xandrox bottle. Setting like that for so many days on end would probably ruin the products and probably make a yucki mess. It probably wouldn't be a stable solution. What do you think about that?

I don't see any problem with that. Just bear in mind that minoxidil and spironolactone like to react with each other, and over time the solution will be no good anymore. But it takes a while for it to happen. Give it a shot, but just make sure that you still apply the same amount of each. If you mix like 5ml of spironolactone with 5ml of xandrox, make sure you put on 2ml of the final solution to get the right mixture on your head.

Wow that was crappy sentence structuring :)

I would say use the liquid solution for other areas of your scalp. The formulation allow for the 2% solution to absorb as effectively as the 5% according to dr. lee.
