Has there been any research about what cause vertex hair cells to become hypersensitive to androgens?
Something I haven't heard anyone mention before is the following. During puberty besides a surge in testoterone, there is also a surge in estrogen. Could the estrogen cause vertex hair cells to become hypersensitive to androgens? A possible pattern would be that men ages in their late teens would have a stronger temporary gynecomastia and these men would have more aggressive hairlos in their 20's and 30's.
