Spectral DNC Customer care Discrepancy

hi - I bought 3 bottles of Spectral DNC 21 days ago and am using it 2 times daily. On the website, box and supplied information inside the packet - there is a problem regarding the recommended amount per application - the say both 10 sprays AND 14 sprays BUT which is correct? I contacted the company to ask – and got this reply…

BTW – I think everyone there is called Angie. So I applied it for about 4 days and the applicator stuck – so I emailed them again and asked how much does 14 sprays equal so I could use the supplied pippet. – and got this reply…

BUT then the spray worked again as I ran it under hot water as Id read to do – and I used it successfully for… NINETEEN days and the bottle ran out… so as it is a 60ml bottle and the staff say 14 sprays equals 1ml that surely being 30 day I emailed them about it... and got this reply…

A bottle of Spectral DNC should last approximately 30 days, which means it may only last 27, 28 or 29 days, but should definitely last longer than 18 or 19 days. Please know I have forwarded your comment to our Quality Control department, so that they may be aware of this issue and certify that the amount of Spectral DNC in the bottles is definitely the same as advertised.

(Please note, if you are treating a smaller area of the scalp, such as only the crown or only the temples, you can use fewer sprays, perhaps eight to ten sprays.)

If you tolerate this treatment well, there is no harm in using a larger amount of Spectral DNC. Users who are interested in faster results and a more aggressive treatment can actually use spectral 3 times per day, morning, afternoon, and night. Or, alternatively, you can apply more sprays per application, a maximum of 20 sprays.

Thanks again Angie :whistle: …BUT…wait – 10 sprays? 14 sprays? 20 sprays? Twice daily? Thrice daily? :lost: I also was rather concerned as EVERY producer of minoxidil products – 2% - 15% all say that using more than 1ml per application will not do anything except cause problems or unwelcome effects. EVEN the literature that comes with Spectral DNC states in the “OVERDOSAGE†section…
“If the medication is applied excessively, no more rapid or better results will be obtained and this will increase the chances of side effectsâ€. uke:

“I apologize if I wasn't clear enough in explaining the increased use of Spectral DNC. The regular amount (14 sprays per application) can be used 3 times per day. If you choose to use 20 sprays per application, you would only apply Spectral DNC twice a day. Please note, this is only recommended for users who have used Spectral DNC for some time and know they tolerate this treatment well.

This increased treatment is something our Research & Development department recently suggested, after extensive testing and research of this product. This information has not yet been included in the product literature.

Also, as the Spectral DNC formula contains Minoxidil at a 5% concentration, the amount of this component that is absorbed into the scalp is far less than 1ml, even when used 3 times a day.

SO…hmmm – I’m very confused! Was I confused to ask about health concerns due to the previous email? Also – If I’m receiving “FAR less tan 1ml†applying it more than 3 times a day (not 1ml each time – 1ml 3 times combined) is it any good even using the stuff as a source of minoxidil? :shock:

Can someone help me out here? I went into using this product hopeful but the customer center as just shot my confidence. Does ANYONE ANYWHERE in the world have before and after photos with spectral DNC? Does anyone other than the people that work for DS labs have any good news on the product? :freaked: Thanks!!!

42 days into using spectral - the second bottle I used the pippet to get 1ml exactly from the bottle per application. 60ml bottle should then equal 30 days - unless my math fails me...lets account for minor inaccuracies in measuring...take a generous 2ml off the total - 29 days - I got 24 days out of my second bottle...that means a total of 42 days from the combined 2 bottles. DS labs Angie C. (C standing for cr*p :jackit: ) said that 14 sprays may last - 27-28-29 days (very accurate for a member of staff there :shock: ) so with "her" guesstimate at the minimum of how long a bottle would last with 14 sprays (not an accurate 1ml) 27 for two months supply equals 54 - which is almost 2 weeks more than what I got!

What is going on with this company???

hey asiwas....i used Spectral DNC consistently twice a day for at least 6 months before switching to Rogaine Foam for the ease of application and quick drying time (as many other posters have said on this forum)... as for the DNC application amount, you cant really tell how much each spray is squirting out so I recommend buying some syringe droppers and measuring exactly 1ml. Then you can apply it without spraying mist and potentially using too much & wasting it.

I wouldnt expect much help from DS Labs, these customer support people tend to send generic responses without much regard for the query....dont think a 3rd application and extra sprays is a good suggestion from them. Thats more of a waste IMO.

I thought the new bottles of the stuff came with a dropper? If not, take the above posters advice and use the dropper from an old rogaine bottle if you have one, or you can get them cheap anywhere. I've discovered customer service is pretty useless for most companies, so I never bother asking them anything unless it has to do with my money.

Oh yeah they do send a glass dropper with them now but you have to squeeze the rubber part at the top to draw the DNC into the dropper which is hard to get exact. The syringes are much better at picking up exactly 1ml and give you better control over applying it as well as being long enough to reach the bottom of the container (provided you get the right size syringe).
