Right, yeah. Am back again, and this is frigging annoying me. I've got no hair loss or thinning, I have a pink scalp cuz I have seborrhoeic dermatitis. Anyway, there's this 'line' of scalp you can see more so through my hair... only in bright lights, or when I use my webcam (light being used from my monitor). If I use a mirror in natural light you can't see it at all. If my hair is flat you can't really see it, but if my hair is sticking up you can see it a lot with the webcam. Natural light there's nothing. I get that, because my hair is dead straight and fair, and sticks up, you can see some scalp through light... combined with the pink-ness of my scalp.... but I just don't get what this is.

So what the hell is it?

Sorry about the sheer amount of pictures, and I apologise for posting these pics and asking the question, cuz am sure most of you will say there's nothing to worry about and to get off these forums. But still, I just want to know what they hell that 'line' is? Like, is it a part, or, part of my crown, or what?

Again, sorry for asking.

errr. those pics have the saturation on high... default setting from the camera. took a pic with my phone (can't find a proper camera) and it looked different. matched (more or less) the saturation from the phone camera to that of the webcam and took a pic. here's what i got.

And in a mirror I see nothing like any of the pics.

Sorry for double posting... didn't know I could edit. My bad.

I dunno man.. I guess either it's just the way your hair naturally is or it's thinning a bit.. I dunno.

How long have you noticed it being there anyway? o_O

Uhm, since my OCD kicked in and I started worrying I could lose my hair... so I started checking with mirrors and cameras. It's weird, you can hardly see anything with my phone camera, and absolutely nothing with a mirror.. looks way worse with the webcam. Might dig out a proper camera and take a few snaps. Asked the parents, they've either said they can't see anything or, whatever it is, it's always been like that and it's the way my hair is naturally. So I dunno. :/

EDIT:

Okay, found a proper camera. Some various pics or my hair wet/dry, natural light/forced flash, and some of that 'line' that am worried about, and then of my crown. My crown seems fine, but at times the line am concerned about seems to be an extension of my crown?? I dunno.

And then... this is how my hair is naturally... no wax or anything. It sticks up on it's own naturally, and is very fluffy. This is how it's always been.

Again, sorry for all the pics.

It's clear you've got very fine hair, but i'll be honest if i was to see some of those pics without any background story, i'd suspect fpb or male pattern baldness hair loss.

How are you treating your seb derm?

Crap. You think it could be hair loss??? :(

erm, am using ketopine shampoo (ketoconazole 20 mg/g) for the seb dermatits... doesn't seem to be doing anything.

lol... i've always been told i've got thick hair cuz there's a lot of it... apparently not. :/

Quite possibly, it *looks* like it could be, that scalp looks pretty painful to me, like it's inflamed, i'm pretty sure an inflamed scalp wouldn't be much good for growing nice thick hair .

I'd be interested to see what other people thought from the pictures alone.

I suppose it would depend on how long you've been using it, although i'd have thought that after a couple of washes the itching would go, I've had seb derm on my face (gross i know) after a couple of dabs of ketoconazole cream it felt better after a day and went in a week.

Lots of hair is different to fine hair, blond hair is finer, but you get more of them to compensate.

I'd look at maybe seeing a professional for advice on this, just to see whether or not it's male pattern baldness etc, if it is, then it's doesn't seem to be much meaning it should be easily treated, and trust me , *if* it is male pattern baldness, it's not all going to drop out in the next week, or even year.
