Soon to start Finasteride. What should I expect.

Hello to all you experienced Finasteride users.

I just ordered two months of Generic Finasteride from the USA. I ordered 2 months worth as it will take 3 weeks to get to me and If I wanted to continue using it I would have to re-order a week later to continue without a break.

Anywho, what I need to know is what should I expect from Propecia. I know some people have sexual side effects but most say they only last a week or so before you hormonally readjust. What would be your advice on this matter? How should I go about this journey?

Hey propeople.

I've been on finasteride now for 10 days and the only sides I am experiencing is watery semen (no problem) and I don't seem to get morning woods, although erections are otherwise fine. Oddly I still wake up semi-erect (I toyed back and forth between writing 'chubby' or not) but I haven't yet woke up either naturally or by alarm to an erection.

Do you experienced people think I might just adjust hormonally in a few months or will I never see a morning wood again?

Everyone's different but I've been on it for around a month and still wake up with morning wood pretty much every morning.

From day one I had water semeny, which I was fine with as it told me that something was happening. But for the past three days I have had pretty soft erections. Libido and ease of getting an erection is fine, but the erection is soft.

These are my options as I see them:

1. Stick with it for a solid month to see if the sides subside at all.
2. Change to maybe 0.5 of a pill and give that ten days to see if it gets any better.

All I seem to read is people either saying they have no sides or that sides go away. I'm not sure if sides mean I'm taking too much for my body and should lower my dose, or that sides are just the way it is with some people. I'd really appreciate some input.

I started taking finasteride a couple of years ago with good results for hair regrowth, but with some horrible side affects. It killed my sex drive. My sperm count was very low! The worst was my penis shrank an inch!! I stopped taking it over a year ago and some of my sex drive came back but not to the point of where it was at before. My sperm count is up , but my penis is still an inch shorter!!! I don't know if that is common and some my say that it can't be but I'm sure of it. I would be careful if you take it hopefully it wont have the same affect on you!

How did the side effects come about?

Did you get sides from the beginning or did they develop over time?

Did you ever change your dose when you started to feel sides?

Re your penis:
I remember reading that eith men-to-female transexuals who take estrogen, the penis gets smaller because of entropy (no use) rather than actual hormones.

the people who get sides already had a weak endocrine system to begin with. less than 1%. been on finasteride for a long time and not one side. strangely ive gotten harder erections and an increase in semen volume.

damien, how are you making out in the lower dosage and what generic finasteride are you using?
