just wanted to share my experience hoping it helps others too. but i first started finasteride/min/nizoral earlier this year, and the first 3 months i actually noticed very good progress, but what bothered me was how irritated my scalp was getting from the minoxidil, to the point where my scalp was even bleeding!! then i read online that foam is better, so i switched to foam, but since then my hair has gotten ridiculously worse if not as bad as before i started treatment...

so recently i went back on liquid minoxidil and i notice something interesting...the liquid dropper bottle has a FDA approved stamp, but the foam version doesn't!!

then i read more online and saw lot of people mention that liquid makes better contact with the scalp as it runs, where as the foam lot of it just kinda gets absorbed by your hair and it doesn't make it to the scalp!!

so now im back on twice a day dropper and for the irritation i am doing couple new things

1. i am towel drying my hair after showering, where as before i would just pat dry cus i was scared towel drying would cause more hair loss, but i feel its better to towel dry to really get the hair nice and clean and dry, and maybe it helps stimulate follicles? :S

2. when it itches, instead of just ignoring it or scratching like crazy, i kinda just take a couple fingers and rub where it itches, and now i think ive gotten used to it cus the last few days i haven't noticed any itching or discomfort in the last few days :D hoping to go hard and hit the ground running and once i make some good progress i will jump down to once a day.

Thanks for the info, I always had my suspicions with the foam it feels like your putting moose in your hair.

Very interesting.I wonder what the manufacturer has to say..I usually like to mix it up use the foam for a couple of months and then the liquid.

I've used Kirkland liquid minoxidil and it's so much easier. I could apply a dropper full and it would easily, by itself, spread around my scalp and as you say with the foam (I used Rogaine) it gets all caught up in the hair and i doubt how much actually reaches the scalp

I 100% recommend the liquid minoxidil over the foam

I ran out of the liquid one so i had to use my older foam which was left over and even after a week, even after washing my hair and drying it as usual, my hair just feels different and it's god awful to style like i could when i was using liquid.. i don't know if its just me but thats what im putting it down to. It just feels awkward and thin?... granted i have just started taking Propecia (1 week in) but for some reason i cant place the blame on that, it's too soon surely
