The following BBC article makes a very interesting reading
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/f ... 942086.stm
I didn't know that France was sort of a half-member of NATO :dunno:. I just assumed that they would be an influential and active member of NATO.
I don't want to start a France vs US argument  , but I have read a few articles in the past about how the US tried to impose its culture on the French. We know the French are very "proud" people, and it must have annoyed them. Obviously, they weren't that annoyed with the Germans, they didn't even fight against the Nazi occupation.
I like the French... They are very unique, in a good way...
