used to be on fincar(proscar), minoxidil 5%, nizoral (3times a week) for about 8 months. Saw some good results.

But for the past 4 months i have stopped taking proscar. I just started taking minoxidil after 2 months of without minoxidil.

So my current regimen is only Minoxidil aand Nizoral.

I can see that my hair is once again thinning out.

Also i've been sick more than usual...wondering if minoxidil is the reason for that.

Please advice me about the right type of regimen. Should i take proscar again (b/c i did see results) and if so....how long would this PROSCAR + MINOXIDIL combo work for ? B/c i'm only 22...and do not want to be bald atleast till 30. So i'm wondering if i should stop now and get back on this in a couple of years b/c of limited effect of Proscar and Minoxidil as far as time goes.
HELP!!

No one can give you a real answer to these questions because everyone is effected differently by meds and there are so many other variables to consider. With that being said I can add some comments that you may find helpful.

Why did you stop finasteride? Were there sides or something? Stopping any treatment can lead to a dramatic shed so it is possible that this is why your hair looks much thinner. If you had no problems on finasteride then maybe you should get on it and stay on it. There is no reason to postpone taking it. Keeping the hair you have now for as long as you can will leave you with a fuller head of hair than if you wait a few years.

What is this sickness you are referring to? minoxidil may lead to heart issues but it is very obvious if that is happening. If your heart beats really fast or hurts right after applying minoxidil or you experience headaches then minoxidil is causing you problems and you should stop it. If it is something else then perhaps you should see a doctor.
