Some questions about hairloss in mature men

Hi guys, my father is 55 years old, and he never had any hairloss problems.

He has a full head of hair.

But he suddenly started losing tons of hair, 3 months ago, and it does not look like it will stop.

Although he is going to see a doctor next week, what do you think could be the cause of this change?

Do you think that the follicles can suddenly change and be sensible to DHT? after more than 50 years

Could it be possible that DHT levels increased due of a bigger prostate?

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks.

Sudden hairloss like that is probably unrelated to male pattern baldness. Usually its something else - some other medical position. Wait to see what the doctor says.

is yr dad losing hair in a receding manner aka classic norwood scale?

If it is it could be male pattern baldness acceleraed to insane levels...

If it is not, it could be diffuse thinning accelrated level...

or Telogen Effluvium...

please clarify the manner your dad is losing hair if not we cant help u...

and also give the timeline..like how long the hair loss and the progression and severity over that timeline...
