Some Advice Needed Before I Got For My Hs

Hi guys. Firstly, I want to thank all the guys who have supported me and have helped me make a decision about getting an HS. Now here is my dilemma:

Attached is a picture of my hair. Currently using toppik but it’s time to move on before it gets so bad that a HS is noticeable. My questions:
1) Should I keep the hairline (which is receeding a lot by the way) and get a topper to start just behind it and cover the top? By the way, I’m using toppik in that picture so the hairline looks fuller than it is.
2) shave the front and top off and go for a graduated HS.

Advice welcome. Before you all say “don’t get a HS as you have plenty of hair” please know that my hair is falling rapidly now. I loose hair everytime I run my fingers through my hair.

thanks in advance

1) Your hairline is not thick enough to just have a partial.

2) Yes, shave the entire thinning area, and go with a topper with a graduated hairline. You should ALWAYS choose a graduated hairline, even if you plan on a style that does not expose it. Why? The hair lays better and gives a more natural look.

@Baldrik You have substantially less hair than I do, and I wear because I hate the texture of my hair; hate the recession at the temples; & wanted a little more volume at the crown.

Cheers pal. You have no idea how many people have told me to wait until more hair falls out! I’ve gotten by using hair fibres. I can’t undo the recession but looking forward to a few cm back of the hairline. Do you have any photos I can see?

I used concealers/fibres for around 7 or 8 years before I upgraded to a HS. In hindsight I should really have moved to the HS a lot sooner, maybe 3 or 4 years earlier. It's like anything though - once you get used to something, you tend to stick with it. I wish I had got a HS earlier, as it would have made the change less obvious.

The single biggest impact a HS makes is to give you back a hairline, to "frame" your face again. This is why nearly all guys who have a transplant are told to use the donor hair to rebuild their hairline, rather than the crown..... the crown needs too much donor hair anyway whereas the hairline is much better to square off your face.
