So... do we have elevated levels of DHT compared to guys not losing hair, OR, is it just that our hair is more DHT sensitive?

Bryan? Michael Barry? Admin?

Our follicles are just receptive to the effects of DHT. :(

The answer is YES.

Men with androgenic alopecia have higher levels of androgens.

...some men. Many have just the opposite phenomenon. The sensitivity and density of the receptor determines the nature and degree of male pattern baldness that occurs, but local factors have a lot of influence, as well.

Yes, this is what I believe the theory that bald/balding men are more macho or have higher T levels is just a myth perpetuated to make us feel better.

Its not the DHT at fault its your hair follicles being receptive to it.

I think its both. There have been many studies showing bald men have higher testosterone/DHT.

Depends on the individual imo.

No you have to be geneticly disposed to lose hair to DHT. Some guys have naturaly higher T counts and some can abuse steroids to a high degree with no hairloss whatsoever. They just have follicles that are resistant to the effects of DHT.
