So how common is weight gain on finasteride really?

I recently started taking finasteride, when I started really reading possible side effects to be able to pay attention while on it.

My most fearful concern is weight loss and gyno. I read some instances where people only gained mass in their lower abdomen, others who said they looked really bloated almost instantly. What can one REALLY expect while taking finasteride? And will DIM or related drugs help to combat the estrogen related side effects?

Thanks in advance everyone

I recently lost 45 pounds this year. I mainly swelled up, and had what you just mentioned as well. Do not like the idea of this at all.

If I take an aromatase inhibitor to combat the higher estrogen levels which lead to weight gain, can I stop taking them once the side effects level off? Or will taking finasteride along with another drug to combat the sides, be a life long commitment. So stressful.

I was told my *** looked like a woman's while I was on finasteride... Not joking.

Nice. I bet you got plenty of compliments when wearing tight jeans. I unfortunately haven't been as lucky as I still have a real mans ***.

I count the calories on everything I eat. It's a habit I got into from going to the gym. I know the calories off on everything I eat by now. It takes me 10 seconds to dial it into a calculator. If you gain weight on finasteride this should work to control it.

finasteride can raise estrogen, but even in the men this happens not usually significant. If one does bloat noticeably from the drugs its not advisable to continue it.

Would lowering the dose until my body adapts to the drug help lower the chance?

Thanks for all the replies

Mabye. I always advise starting low and building up over a couple of months.

I actually started on 0.25mg every 3 days. Now Im on 1.25mg every 3 days and sticking with it as its working great.

Define significant? 10 to 20 percent increase seems pretty significant to me.

Not when the average bloke already has minimal estrogen.

Anyway, from my pre finasteride research I came to the conclusion it was below 6% on average.

Test can raise by 10-20%, but you dont see finasteride users turning into aplha males.

Give it three years. You think blocking dht and raising estrogen isn't going to have any physiological effect?

i thought people on steroids forums always said, as long as ur test is high, if ur estrogen gets higher its not bad, its when u have low test and high estrogen

because test and estrogen need to be balanced or something
