So I'm 19 and been on minoxidil 5% for almost a year now and finasteride for about the same amount of time. I've always stayed on schedule with the finasteride but since June I've honestly been slacking a bit with the minoxidil. I couldn't tell that if I was seeing any results at the time and started to get fed up with it but recently I've been shedding an obscene amount and I think my hairline is getting worse. It's scared me into getting back on track with the minoxidil. But what I manly want to know is how bad my hairline looks right now. I'm never able to get proper answer from family and friends cause they all say that it's fine and what not.
My left side is worse then my right and up until the recent shedding, the right side had next to no thinnig.
If anyone would be able to give their honest opinion on how bad they think it looks or if there's any hope of getting my hairline to look a bit better that would be much appreciated.( I don't have any completely bald patches. I either just have really thin hair or small vellus hairs that don't show in the pictures.

You literally have your juvinille hairline. Why are you using the only tools in the hairloss arsenal so early and pointlessly?

its all about preserving what you already have. why wait when you can stay nw1 for longer?

I seriously cannot see any problem with your hairline. Looks normal to me Maybe its the way you took the photos. I cannot see any apparent hairloss

Ok? Therefore it is important to hold off on the only available treatments until you actually need them.

makes no sense to wait til things get worse in my opinion. its not the drug that becomes ineffective, it is the fact that your dht just gets higher even when you're on the finasteride. besides, you're like a nw1.5 yourself. why are you so early with treatments? lol

I realize that my hairline is not bad at all compared to most people but due to the recent shed I felt like I needed some outside opionion on it.
And as to why I'm using both these tools, it's because about a year ago I went to see a dermatologist for a completely unrelated thing about my scalp. And whiles I was there I decided to ask about hair loss considering my father was between a norwood 3 and 4 throughout his thirties and is now a norwood 5 at fifty. So obviously it's something I was curious about and also worried about considering it's pretty likely my hair will wind up being similar. She told me that I'm probably going to follow suit and said my left temple looked like it had been thinning although I don't know if it has anything to do with male pattern baldness or anything else. But it freaked me out an so she said that I should get on these. And since the thining reverted back to normal. Up until the shed which left me uncertain if anything bad had happened considering I didn't take any pictures of my hair line prior to it.

I appreciate your reply as well as everyone else's and it's made me not so worried anymore. So thank you for your feedback
