So is there any evidence that the increased testostrone in the body from working out does not contribute to male pattern baldness? Because test levels are always different, it's whether they are converted to DHT, no?

the test levels are temporary and go back down within a couple of hours after completing the exercise. dr lee says this is why it doesn't contribute to male pattern baldness

Too right plenty of scrawny bald guys out there. Plenty of nw1 steriod takers aswell. If you're gonna lose it you're gonna lose it. DHT blockers (finasteride, dutasteride) are about the only thing that can have any impact.

It can accelerate hairloss, if you work out hard.

Why? Because when you work out very hard, you stimulate the growth hormone and that generates more Testosterone, which means more DHT.

I worked out in the past and I noticed increased hairloss (when i was not in any treatment)

Now, I'm about to start working out again, but I will take it easy.

Also, what helps a lot is running and aerobics. That is very good for hair, because you keep healthy and you reduce your fat levels, which is good for hair.

Also, be sure to be into a good diet.

If you are into a good diet, you do enough cardio and you work out with a moderately good rutine (not like Ronnie Coleman :) ), you won't have any problems.

Good luck.

This topic is a joke! Jayman (above)has got it right. If you're going to go bald it does'nt matter what you eat or how you excercise. Every hair follicle on your head is geneticly programmed to either respond to DHT or not. Are you telling me that if I had lived my life differently never doing any excercise and kept to the most healthy diet in the world that I would'nt be here now on this hairloss forum?
When it comes to hairloss (male pattern baldness) the genetic programming of your body will overide any diet or excersice regime. Everybody lives a different lifestyle, diet and excercise can help change your size shape and weight but not change wether you will go bald or not. You cant spend your life thinking I must eat plenty of this or I'll go bald/ I cant do hard excercise because it will make me go bald.
I have to wonder if there is a forum out there for short people and posters on it are saying eat this/dont eat this and you'll grow tall, dont excercise/do excercise and you'll grow taller...

This thread is very serious. Doing things that stress you out or that stress your body, can accelerate hairloss.

If you are predisposed to lose it, you will lose it soon or late. But one thing is clear, and is that you can do a lot of things to slow it down. Like reduce stress, and what might stress your body.

It's already known that if you work out very hard (like I said above) and you don't have a very good diet to feed your muscles that were burned out like mad in gym, you will lose hair. Why? Because your body is smart and if you don't have a very good diet while you work out, it uses resourses of your own body to feed your muscles.

I'm not talking bullshit here. You can ask a specialist about it. Also, you are free to do what you want. I just wanted to share my experience in this matter and what I know (good source). I could easily not post here if I wanted, but I do it, to share what I know. Take it or leave it, it's up to you guys.

If you really want to work out hard, be sure to follow a good diet. Like I will do when I start working out soon.

Good luck.

You can train like Ronnie Coleman or like Tito either way you are going to lose your hair if you are genetically gifted with male pattern baldness....

it does not matter as far as the test level. There MAYBE and i am NOT SURE and i doubt it a correlation between the weight lifting and the stress you put on your body and acceleration of male pattern baldness. I have posted a study about stress hormone and male pattern baldness before you can check it out here:

my thoughts on working out and balding:

working out does not cause balding. reason is because the testosterone your body makes goes towards your muscles, if anything, you need to stop producing dht to build up your muscles.

the only reason it could cause hair loss is if you really are getting mega-stressed from your workout. as stress increases hair loss, or so i'm led to believe.

Stress related hairloss has nothing to do with M.P.B (male pattern baldness) the two conditions are entirely different and not related.
DHT (synthetic obviously) can be found in some bodybuilding supplements and many serious bodybuilders actualy take it to increase muscle growth.
As for hairloss and physical condition in general. Just take a look at most third world countries and you will see millions of people suffering from malnutrition and generally in a poor physical condition but still managing to maintain a full head of hair.

That is wrong information.

If you are predisposed to lose hair, and you are stressed, your hairloss may and probably will increase.

It's not all about genetics. There a lot of factors that can accelerate OR slow down your hairloss, if you are predisposed to lose hair. It's not all Black or White.

Also, people suffering from malnutrition and not losing hair, are people that are not predisposed to lose hair.

Bodybuilders who take Dianabol, Winstrol and Decadurabolin and are not predisposed to lose hair, are not going to lose hair, no matter what.

That's the point that I'm trying to make! There are so many people on this forum who are obviously predisposed to lose their hair because of their genetics, they see the early signs of m.p.b and instead of just accepting their hairloss for what it is (a natural disorder) they are looking for other excuses blaming stress and their diet. There are a lot of guys trying to balance out their levels of excercise reduce stress etc, and taking all kinds of expensive supplements and in the end some of it may be beneficial to their health but none of it will make much difference to their hair.
