without a doubt I shed more when I smoke....

to keep your hair you have to give up beer, pork products, smoking, sex/masterbation, chocolate, fast food, loud music, movies, videogames, internet, message boards, and laughing. It's best to sit in a room and eat lettuce and you *might* be able to keep your hair. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes in a year.

In med school we are taught that smoking is detrimental for almost every system in our body, not just mouth and lungs as most believe. This is especially true for skin (look at the skin of a long time smoker compared to a non) and hair. It inhibits the bodys natural repair and building mechanisms. Smoking is definitely bad not just for male pattern baldness but will also negate much of the effect treatments would hav since they utimately rely on the body to rpair damaged follicles.
