Side effects of inhibiting DHT

A quote from the book "The Testoterone Syndrome" by Eugene Shippen, MD:

page 107
"Moreover, not only this area but the penis itself requires DHT for full activity."

Also people must get hormone profile testing when modulating their hormones. The should consult a qualified anti-aging specialist as conventional endocronoligists will tell you that everything is fine under "normal" lab results. Normal also means that hormones decrease with age and the result is premature aging, heart disease, BPH, skin aging, weight gain, and more.

If you inhibit DHT and as a result your excess testoterone is "aromatized" to estrogen you are puting yourself at risk for all these effects.

You need to use an aromatase inhibitor like Arimidex to prevent this or the consequences will be serious including genital atrophy, BPH, and heart disease.

Do you think that taking Arimidex everyday is safe for a long period of time?

I am very interested in the subject, and my current plan of attack is high lignan flax seed oil, DIM-plus, and Chrysin (I know, I know).

I just started proscar and I will get tested in about three months to see what my blood levels are. If they are of concern, I will be looking for something more powerful.

You do not to take Arimidex everyday. Maybe 2 times a week and there are no side effects.

A good book that tells you what your optimal hormone profile should be is "The Life Extension revolution" publishe by Bantaam Books. The author is Dr. Philip Miller. It should be available at most bookstores.

Remember you need not just a testoterone test, but a complete hormone profile.

If "you know, you know" about chrysin, why'd you even mention it? :) Don't put your hard-earned money into the pockets of those rip-off artists.

What about 6-OXO? Would this be a good alternative?
no. its only an anti-estrogen bodybuilders use when they cycle off the gear.

6-OXO seems to work very similar to Arimidex by disabling the aromatase enzyme. Has anyone played with small doses maybe EOD that might keep E levels down in the normal range for those whose finasteride has elevated them?

Does anyone here have experience with 6-OXO? I am thinking of taking two capsule's EOD along with my Proscar.
