Shrinking the surface area for hairpiece

My first and second hairpieces were done at a salon. When I got my second hairpiece I am assuming they purchased the wrong size and had to further shave more from the sides of my hairpiece area.

Fast forward a few hairpieces later I want to reduce the surface area because the first hairpiece area better replicated the area of my hair that was thin. Now when I remove my hairpiece for maintenance you can definitely see the hair area that was cut the second time is still very thick.

My question is it ok to continue letting those areas grow and continue taping my hair to it or will I have major adhesion issues? I am sure it won’t be fun having to remove the tape from the hair especially as it gets longer but will I be ok keeping it down? I don’t anticipate it taking too long as my bio hair on the sides grows pretty fast. I go about 2 weeks between maintenance and at that time it’s a huge difference between the true area (like my first hairpiece) and what is cut now.

1. Never allow someone to do that again! Cut the base to fit your balding area, not the opposite.

2. I am not sure how long your hair is, and the style you have. If you bond the system to growing hair you are going to have problems with the system sticking on those areas, and cleanup will be a mess.

3. The best option, but may not work for you, is to wear a cap until your hair grows in, and cut the rest shorter.

Unfortunately I can not wear a cap as I work in the public everyday.

Would you suffer through until it’s long enough or would you just forget about the whole thing and stay like it is now?

I don't know what you mean by "suffer through"... how, by taping the unit to your hair as it grows?
