Should I see a different dermatologist?

I've wanted to start finasteride for almost a year. I took accutane from January 2014 to January 2015, and while I was on it my dermatologist didn't want me taking another hard drug at the same time. I asked her again in January and she said I should wait for few more months until the accutane is out of my system, to make sure the hair loss isn't cause by that. I went back in March, and she prescribed me Olux. It is a steroid? Does that even help? And she said to wait three more months to see if that helps. Well, I really don't want to wait three more months. I want to start now. Do you think I should wait? Also, is it possible that I also have traction alopecia? I'm constantly lifting up my hair to look at my hairline and it feels really irritated and oh so slightly worse. I don't know even what to do anymore. I get more and more depressed every day.

Looked at your previous pics some minor temple recession going on. Tranction alopecia usually occurs when in people who wear tight ponytails, braids, weaves ect ect. A friend of mine braids his hair all the time and has it and yet continues to braid his hair.

I think I read accutane can cause hairloss, but would it show in male pattern baldness form like temple recession? Unsure.

My advice see another dermatologist. If that fails you can get a finasteride online without a script.

It's not about the advice, it's about the prescription ;-) When I visit a doctor, a prescription is usually all I want from him.

You still dont need them for that, lol.

it looks the same, quit worrying. Focus on seeing another dermatologist and getting a script for finasteride.

I went to a different doctor at the university health center. He said finasteride wouldn't help in the front at all and that I should only come back if it starts in the back too. He didn't even give me a clear answer as to whether it would stop hair loss or not. He said it didn't look that bad and it looks pretty normal. I'm so upset. I feel like I'm about to give up. No one wants to give it to me.

I guess I should search for a third doctor then. I don't know how bad I even am now. Is it horrible? But I'm getting discouraged at this point.

Most general physcians are the worst at prescribing finasteride as the majority have no clue. Even some dermatologist are pretty bad especially if you get a bald one.
