Should I remove finasteride altogether and only use dutasteride?

I bought some avodart a few weeks back after having taken 1.25mg finasteride daily for 7 months and seeing no results. I currently take the avodart twice a week and finasteride on the remaining days. The avodart gives me slight sides but nothing unbearable. Should I begin to use dutasteride every day? I don't get sides with finasteride and can't see much point continuing to use it.

I'm not sure 7 months is enough time. Many men don't start seeing results until after 1 to 1.5 years on finasteride. I'm not sure combining both finasteride and dutasteride is a good idea. Nor is self medicating. I would choose one or the other.

A number of people use both. Why is it pointless?

I think it's like taking acetaminophen and ibuprofen at the same time. Or like taking both allegra and zyrtec. I'm not a doctor but I would strongly advise considering just choosing one.

I don't use both meds on the same day - finasteride on 5 days a week, dutasteride on the remaining 2.

if dutasteride 2 days a week loweres your DHT past 70% which is probably does than there is no point in taking finasteride, as the dutasteride is already doing everything the finasteride does and more. adding finasteride to that wont do anything additional
