Depends.. We're not sure the current state of you hair or what it looks like. Maybe post a pic or two for a better response.

Yeah its basically impossible to give an informed suggestion without pictures. If your hair is long sometimes it can add a real aesthetic benefit to keep it very short or buzzed. Conversely sometimes it can look better grown out a bit (more rare). I've heard a lot of people say to give finasteride a year and a half before you write it off. If you're not getting sides from finasteride than I don't really see the harm and holding out for a bit longer.

You could also look to add in more things than just the big 3 if you do some research you'l find some other interesting options. Or you could obviously say screw it and start shaving. Just because u start shaving doesn't mean in the future you may not be able to gain hair back. I think a lot of us view shaving head without treatments to basically mean well never have hair again. Who knows what they'll have in the next 5-10 years.

Shaving is never a good option if you still have hair IMO.

tapered/faded sides with a little bit ontop > shaven (military cut)

great hairstyle for advanced and early norwoods. Looks awesome if you're lean and have a chiseled face. Takes attention from the hair onto your face

Part to your bad side.

Err, okay.

I've got a great hairstyle for advanced and early norwoods too. High fade with long hair on top and a beard. Beard takes the attention away from your hair. Looks awesome if you've got eyes and eyebrows. Part to your bad side.

That haircut involves having a full head of hair. I fail to see your argument here.

I pointed out that high, and tight is the way to go. Faded sides with a short top that blends in ..can help blend in recessed areas and give a much more pleasing image.

Oh sorry I thought we were just writing descriptions and posting random pics (your guy is not anywhere on the norwood scale, does not have a bad side, does not have a lean or chiselled face)

I suggest you cover everything as much as you can, a bit like this:

Then you save up for a Hair Transplant to restore your quality of life to it's full. In the meantime sit on the impact section of HairLossTalk.com complaining about how bitterly unfair life is.

I've read that finasteride can take a year to really take affect in some people. I'd maybe give it another month to be sure but if you still don't see any improvement after this you probably don't want to waste any more time and money with the "big 3".
As for shaving your head it depends on how bad your hair loss is I guess. Only you know if you're at the stage where you'll look better shaved.

Yep...keeping it shorter once you start balding is the only way to go on my opinion...unless you're of an age where it is very common and therefore suits you to show some hair loss.

I still have early hair loss i guess you could say...NW2/3V thinning pattern so far...but if i have it longer than an inch or so then when i wake up in the morning the front looks like sh*t. I hate that receded bed hair. I want to wake up next to a woman feeling ok...therefore short is the only way to go. Even if it does show the bald spot at the back maybe a bit more obviously :/

Mind posting pics? I'm nearly a Norwood 3 (or probably am) but the hair I have left looks thick. I was think of getting something sort of like this but didn't want to look like I was hopping on the trend.

I know how you feel.

SO many times after waking up next to a chick in the morning, id actually go to the bathroom, piss, wash my face and fix my hair before I get back into bed as if we were just waking up next to eachother type of 'look'

People who dont have male pattern baldness.. their hair always looks good. it doesn't flatten, and cowlick like our diffusing hair rofl

same here brotha, grew out my hair these past 2 months, short fade on sides long on top. looked good for like 5 days, got it cut today and it feels fkn nice, im actually loving it, besides being nw2.5-3 im really happy with what i have right now. Although i could use a little more density, but hey, beggers cant be choosers.
