Hey guys

Finding out i was losing my hair sent me into a downhill spiral where i basically ordered junk food daily for the last 6 months. As a result i have put weight on on my chest and stomach. Which i think i should be able to get off in the next 6 months or so.

I'm worried that if i start finasteride now I'd be at an increased chance of getting gyno and or wouldn't be able to tell if it was happening to me.

Thoughts?

More or less depends on your actual situation on the hair loss front, being how aggresive and progressed your hair loss is because you don't really want to risk that. I get what you're saying though, I say weight it out (get it?) and loose that flab. I'm a pretty skinny guy but I feel like i have too much body fat, so I'm loosing those pounds so to lessen the chance of gyno when I get on it.

I'm heading towards a nw2 or am a nw2 on one side nw1 on the other with a growing bald spot on my crown which is currently shedding due to minoxidil. I'm 23 and according to my mum all her brothers receeded quite a bit in their 20s 30s. Propecia does scare the **** out of me but i know i need to take it if i want to keep my hair which i do because i frowned a lot as a kid and frankly i need medium to long hair to look presentable in my opinion. Hell i'd even put up with being less horny now and then. Iv'e had anti anxiety drugs stop me from getting it up before so i know the shock of that but Iv'e had no luck with women in my life so eh even if that did happen it's not going to change much. Gyno however is easier for people to spot and in my opinion is worse than ED. As i have a little fatty tissue that hurts when i touch it because of the weight gain I wouldn't be able to even tell if propecia is giving me gyno if i took it atm. Does having fat on your chest increase the chance of gyno?

i should add all of my uncles only had the side bits of hair by the time they were 50 if that helps.

gyno is not the same as fatty breast tissue from being overweight. Start the finasteride if you need it, cut the junk food now, and start working out.

I know, However I can't remember where i read it but I remember reading that more fatty tissue = More estrogen. So that plus finasteride could = increased risk couldn't it?

I read somewhere that there are more estrogen receptors in fatty tissue.

Our good man Redstar recommends everyone to have a low BF% while using finasteride.

I would work on dropping your BF% not only for finasteride, but for your overall health as well.

So if there's more estrogen receptors that would make more BF cause an increased risk of gyno yeah? It'd take me a few months to lose it id say i'm just scared of holding off on finasteride but also very scared of gyno.
