Should I Get On Finasteride? (19y/o)

Brief history: mothers side, uncles and grandfather all bald.(in their twenties i believe)

I notice I lose about 150 hairs in the shower, mainly when shampooing.

I’ve also noticed smaller hairs on my hairline (more prominent on left side)

My two questions are;

1. should get on finasteride asap?
2. How bad is my situation

Do micro needling with minoxidil till you reach mid twenties, because if you get on finasteride now if would hinder normal growth. After you hit 23 ,24 then get on finasteride. You are young to try that dangerous drug .

Come on, it's MUCH more reasonable to advise young men who are still on a low Norwood scale to try different things first.

Finasteride is still long term hormone therapy and not some harmless aspirin that one takes for a short time.

OP, look up zix and try that first.

Yeah. Usually hairline recedes with age. If it's rapid, it might be actual male pattern baldness.

Probably sign that you're starting to bald, it all depends on how aggressive it is. But don't worry, get on a treatment and stick to it for at least 6 months. A little bit of hairloss is normal though. I would recommend zix, get on it and let us know your experience with it in the zix thread after 6 months. And don't quit after 1/2 months.

Also, the hairs that fall out don’t have white bulbs. Instead, they usually have like some puss sebum type stuff on them. Not on the very tip, but near it. Any thoughts?

Doesn't really mean anything, most important indicator is how your hair starts to look, is it thinning or not. And of course, you know your hair best.

I see. So if hair is falling out, it doesn’t matter whether or not it has the white bulb? I wasn’t under impression the white bulb meant shedding VS when the white bulb isn’t present meaning breakage.

If the benefits of finasteride weigh out the cons for your personal use, then use finasteride. People on this website use their own personal negative experiences with the medication and try to use it as the general standard. Don't do that, because you make yourself look like a damn fool. And, I actually do know more than doctors about hair loss. Seemingly, they still believe DHT is the only hormone to cause hair loss which is just hilarious.

And, I don't think you should come for my regimen when yours is a literal tutorial on how to go bald.

I would not recommend you going for Finasteride.
This medication is considered good for hair loss but there is a probability of some side-effects too! Read this blog. It has some info on finasteride.

I will recommend you taking a healthy diet rather than using propecia for hair loss. If hair loss is hereditary, finasteride won't help it recover in most of the cases.

You can wear a hair system rather than shifting to medications. Its an affordable alternative than medicines.
