Sheds again!

I was going to come here and post some picts of my progress, and let everyone know how well the treatments work.

But then I went into another shed.

I went through sheds in Dec/Jan. finasteride sheds, I assumed, and as I predicted, three months later I found a lot of hair starting to grow back in. In a couple weeks I was loving my hair! I could spike it and it looked great, not very thin at all (unless you looked at it from the top). A couple people aware of my condition and treatments commented on how good my hair looked (without me asking).

Why does my hair shed every time it starts to look good? Feck!!!

Well, really, it still looks good. The sheds have not been so bad yet. And while they have not stopped, it seems like it slowed down a bit today, so heres hoping. With some luck, I will not lose too much and will not feel compelled to shave my head as I have during past sheds. As it stands, my hair still looks better then it did a year ago.

But why do I shed every three-four months? Its not fair! (Well, none of this is fair, is it,. actually knowing how young some of us are here, I must say that in a way I supposed I am lucky to have hideable thinning at 28 years old). Still, I'm wondering. Actually there was a bit of a heat wave recently, so I wonder if perhaps all the sweating and pore-opening heat caused this. And I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe, some of the hair is falling out because there is new growth pushing it out. That happens, right?

I gots to look good for summer!

I may just post some pics soon (never have before), sheds or no. At least if I document it, I'll be able to tell if its getting better or worse.

Nice to hear from you again flux. Shed's suck and yea it has been hot as hell here. Its a hundred degrees on the eastside today. I don't think heat will cause shedding though. Hopefully they become less and less prminent as you continue your treatment.

Ive been losing hair non stop for the last 3 months after what was a really nice first 6 months. I dont know what to make of all of it, all I know is my hair looks like caca merda in the sun. My scalp is showing through my hair and it sucks big time.

I have three months left before I hit the 1 year mark, if things dont get slighlty better by then Im going to call it a loss and shave it clean and keep it that way.

Good luck to you though, I hope you have better luck with regrowth than I have these last few months.

i shed on proscar..badly, for 3 and a half months. i haven't been shedding much lately. but i don't want to jinx myself. i think most of what shed has been growing back. my crown has gotten from like 85% to 95%. my front is eh. the same i guess. i have no regrets taking proscar. no side effects at all by the way

I can sympathize with your shedding situation. It seems like every time I start to get confident in my hair it undergos a shed which inevitably makes me doubt the effectiveness of my treatment. At least you've gone through the cycle enough that your now confident the hair will grow back.
I personally feel that the hotter it gets the more it seems like you shed. I wear hats allot because I golf and almost always will I notice a greater frequency of hairs inside my hat during a hot day, when I've been sweating allot.

Anyways you should post the pictures regardless. It's always nice to see results from people however minor they may be.

i use minoxidil 5% and proscar. minoxidil hasn't given me the greatest results. i'll just say that. i've been on it for almost 3 years. all it may have done was slow down my hairloss..a little. i honestly think proscar is the best thing i've added to the regimine. if you're new to hairloss,.. start off with proscar, then add minoxidil later if you need to.
