Hi guys, Just wondering if I could get some advice and opinions from people who know what they're talking about. Self diagnosis through google suggests I will be bald by next week which is not helping.

Bit of background, the sides of my hairline receded age 20, I am now in my early 30's. I haven't experienced any changes since then, maybe a little slower to grow.

10 days ago I noticed more hair in the sink (I rinse my hair when waking to tidy up bed-head) than usual, maybe around 15-25 hairs and if I run my hands through my hair more will break off. I can gently grab an inch of hair and 9 times out of 10 I will have a hair in my finger tips with no effort at all to pull them out. It's coming out of the top sides and back.

I also have a tingly itchy scalp, but no redness or visible issues. It is quite uncomfortable but I'm trying my best not to scratch it.I have used the same head and shoulders shampoo since I was 18.

Is this the start of something along the lines of losing my hair or do I have an issue with my scalp and that is causing hair to fall out?

Your hair might be transitioning to the next norwood stage after 10 years of "hibernation".
The itchiness is either due to hair loss, or due to the fact that you keep pulling hair out with your hands..

The amount of hair I have removed is probably about 10-20 strands. The itch is a very strange sensation, it's not so bad I want to scratch my scalp to bits but noticeable all the time.

Is there any way to determine what's going on?

Would it be advisable to start something like propecia or consider a hair transplant? I'm actually booked in at KSL hair on Friday, this was originally to discuss my receding hairline.
