Hey,

it is getting really depressing right now, i am getting those ugly things every time i wash my hair or rinse it.

Yesterday one was so stuck that i had to cut some hair. It started happening for the last month or two maybe (hair loss for 3 year). Does it means its starting to get more agressive, anyone else has that ?

Its not drandruff, but really huge flake with hair grafts on it..

Topically i am using

- 0,1 hydrocortisone mix with water for scalp acne
- sandalore
- nizoral every other day (but i live it more than the recommended 3 minutes, more like 15 on my scalp) But my scalp feels so nice after it, the only shampoo working for me.

Can those comes for the overuse of nizoral ?

thanks

Go see a dermatologist then. What exactly are you expecting to get from people on a hairloss forum?

Those flakes do not look normal. You need to get a close up inspection of your scalp from someone who is qualified to give you advice.

Yes i know ! but in my country i cant see a dermatologist ''right now''. i first need to consult my own general doctor who will after give me a dermatologist booking. (I already called my doctor for a consult so i am moving forward)

But i wont have a booking with a dermato until this summer maybe, so by this time i was just wondering if anyone hs ever had or seen something like this (related to baldness or not)

thanks !

Sure I understand.

I had quite bad dandruff a couple of year's ago and applied Argan oil to my scalp every night and it worked wonders. I'm sure it might help you also while you wait for that appointment. It's great for keeping the scalp moisturized.

Just make sure it's 100% Argan. There's a lot of products out there that are counterfeit.

Yeah i thought about trying some oils. Problems is i have a relly oily scalp. so i dont wanna get it oiler with essential oils.

My oily scalp is why i ''over use'' nizoral. anyway i see a doctor (not a dermato) in april so i'll ask him ! thanks man.

but i also have a lot of acne on my forehead since 2019 (this is new) this gotta be linked to my scalp issues. Classic sebaceous gland overproduction. i am not taking finasteride but i feel it is the only solution for sebaceous gland overproduction..

It looks like you have foot skin stuck in your hair...

In all honesty though, it would be best to just visit a doctor about this.

Well, I'm not a dermatologist, and never had that, but I've read that overusing Nizoral (which in my experience leaves the scalp and hair very dry), can lead to more dandruff. 15 mins in my opinion seems excessive. Why dont you try using it 2 times a week for 5-10 mins as it is recommended? And the other days, just a good shampoo and conditioner that doesnt leave your scalp and hair so dry. I think it'd probably help.

Try that, but also visit a dermatologist, because you are also using two other things that might be contributing or even causing whats happening to you.

yeah i'll try to definitely slow down the nizoral.. problem is my scalp is sooo greasy and oily. nizoral is the oily shampoo (i tried all of them) that get rid of all the oil.

do you know any other shampoo ? i tried apple cider vinegar, it helps, but it stink like hell... people actually told me i smell like sh*t when the hour before i rinsed my hair

Hey that could be a fungal infection depending on what your scalp looks like underneath. It could also be bacteria but either way you should not use nizoral for as long as you are because it can over dry the scalp. I know you are suffering from an oily scalp like everyone here but if you over dry the scalp with nizoral then your scalp will only become more oily to compensate for the temporary dryness. Even worse if you over dry your scalp and the skin cracks bacteria and fungus will have a chance to enter the skin and cause infection or folliculitis and bacteria infection can be mistaken for scalp acne. If you develop terrible redness on the scalp or pain you should talk to your doctor about an oral antibiotic or anti fungus.
