Its summer, I have electric clippers, and im obsessing about hair... So why not shave? ...
Well, I did, no guard... It doesnt look as bad as I thought it might, but I kind of miss the hair I had. Why did I do it? To see the worst hair loss can do and hopefully put things in perspective. What did I learn? I can deal with it, but would rather not. I am more self-conscious, look older than I did (i think) with my hair which would occasionally flash scalp at the vertex or thru the front, and I am mainly waiting on it to grow back : ) It will be 3-4 months, I imagine, and in the meantime I'll keep up the treatments. When it grows in again it might be thicker (if the treatments are helping, it will be 5-6 months on dutasteride this fall) or might not. What Im sure of is that Ill appreciate what I have more, and be a little more confident that it won't be the end of the world if I do have to shave.
Am I glad I did it? No. Will it be a good thing in the long run? Probably not, since I could have waited 5 years to do this. But, I guess I'll have a few months to practice on my outlook.
Just thought I'd post this in case anybody else was going to impulsively take the plunge.
PS- I feel like Bruce Willis. That's not a bad thing, but Im younger, and not a movie star... and was never married to Demi Moore.
