Shaving my head

Hi Group

I'm new here. I'm twenty-five, have a small spot growing in the crown of my head and an increasing recession in my hairline in the front. I grew out my hair to experience the obligatory "final fling" but it looks uneven with the recession in the front.

I started propecia about a month ago. I'm going to add rogaine this week. I've heard there's a third in the "trinity" (minoxidil I think?) And if it's suggested, I'll speak to a doctor about it.

I didn't notice my hair loss until two years ago when I had my hair cut really short. It made me very insecure but three weeks later, I had a beautiful new girlfriend out of nowhere. We since parted ways.

I've become so distraught with the hairloss, I've decided maybe I should just shave my head and have a real look at what I'd have to live with if I didn't do anything. People have always told me "You should shave your head." I'm very tall and have a pretty long head and happen to think I would look quite silly with a shaven head, but people keep telling me to do it.

So maybe I will. What I want to know is if shaving my head would be a gateway to disaster if I ever want to regrow my hair, even if I keep taking the trinity.

Any encouragement, opinions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Give it a try dude, it won't impact your hair growth at all. You may be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Propecia (finasteride)
Rogaine (Minoxidil)
Nizoral (ketoconazole)

Depending on how you respond, you might continue your "final fling" for the next 5-10+ years.

I had my head shaved to a 3mm, but it wasn't to my liking. I would have preferred to have shaven it with a 0 guard, but oh well.

Goodluck, my friend.

Have faith in the treatments.
