hi i am new to the forum and have some questions about types of shampoos and frequency of usage along with effectiveness. i want to reduce more DHT topically and possibly spur some added thickness.

currently i shampoo 7x weekly (no dry scalp), 2x nizoral 5x L'oreal vive (i dont know, my mom buys it)

1. can i shampoo with nizarol 2% all 7 days, would this be more effective, i use it 2x weekly right now with no ill effects.

2. is revita worth using, and could it be used EOD along with nizarol 2% EOD, would this be more effective than Nizarol 2% ED

3. could i do 1 or 2 14x a week, that would be 2 showers a day, witch i prefer.

4. is revivogen shampoo worth incorperating in any fashion into the above routines

5. can spironolactone pills be crushed and remain stable in any of these shampoos

thanks in advance for all replies.

it is doubtful that revivogen shampoo will help your hair. Not sure though now much fatty acids they put in it. So maybe.

As for the nizoral, more is a bit better. You will find out if your scalp can handle it.

spironolactone shampoo is experimental. It would probably last longer in the fridge, if you add some citric acid to it. But too much will make it too acid. You may need some pH paper for that. Small batches might not break down too fast though.

I'm all for rotating therapudic shampoos, but I don't know if revita is worth the price compared to nizoral.

thanks CCS, i think i will gradually up the use of nizarol, first to EOD, then to ED (still works out to be extremlly cheap). i am intriqued by the results of the study that found regrowth from daily applications.

thanks for pointing that out. I missed that detail.

2% nizoral regrew just as much as 1% nizoral used twice a week. The topicals are used every day. Also, the topicals were used right after shampooing with a cheap shampoo first.

maybe we need to pre-wash for 20 seconds, rinse out the cheap stuff, and then use Nizoral almost daily right afterwards. And maybe leave it on 10 minutes instead of 4.

I think my retin-A will help too. And I only have to apply it twice a week to get the same affects.
