4 Questions:

Overview of my hair: fine overall, thining/losing it in my upper tempel areas/hairline. i also have oily skin, and wake up with oily hair.

1] Is using Nioxin and Nizoral (once a week) too harsh for my hair? ie, using 2 DHT inhibitating shampoos.

2] Since i have fine hair, when it is dryer (straw-like) it feels thicker. is that ok? or is dry hair an issue?

3] When using 2 DHt blocking shmpoos (nizoral and Nixoin), should i be conditioning to help my dry hair after shampooing? if so, how often? remember, i have oily skin/scalp, so when i wake up it is oily.. but after showering/shampooing, my hair is ncie and dry untill the next morning.

4] Should i shampoo everyday? I have an oily scalp so i would assume i should always wash off the oils, but is washing my hair too much bad?

Thanks.

Hmm i think ive already answered some of this this before but..

Just my opinion but I would cut down to one of the two shampoo's. Conditioner is totally up to you, I've not used one in years because most have a lot of alcohol and silicone based ingredients which only 'artificially' make your hair feel softer.

As for washing everyday, why don't you try washing less frequently and make a note of the outcome with your scalps oil production and then try washing daily and compare results. Best way to find out!

I agree with you on that. If anybody believes that washing causes the skin (or scalp) to produce more oil, then TEST IT! Don't just assume that that's correct! The only issue I have with you is the way you measure the sebum: you need to do that accurately and scientifically. I recommend Sebutape Skin Indicators, which even doctors and scientists use to measure sebum production in clinical trials (or rather Sebutape Test Strips, which are very similar to the Skin Indicators). Thinking that your skin becomes oilier when you wash it is like believing that your apartment gets dirtier when you clean it! :)
