Hello all,
I am 20 year-old male who, for past year, has been prematurely loosing hair in unpatterned patches of my head. Most of this is around where my hair parts on the right. There is no history in my family of this. The only things I can trace it to are me previous eating habbits, personal hygene, and stress.

Eating habbits- I used to not eat right, but I have dramatically changed my diet to a much healthier selection.

Personal Hygene- I used to not wash my hair properly until I started noticing patches.

Stess- An ending relationship put me into stress for 8 months.

Since my early teenage years, I have been able to grow facial hair, which is a mystery to me. Do you think this has any baring on why my head hair is becoming patchy? I am currently on Propecia, and have been for the past 2 months. I havn't noticed much difference yet. Any thoughts? Thank you for your time, I appreciate any help.

propecia takes 6 mths to a year to work.

nobody can tell you if its male pattern baldness you have or not unless you post pictures and answer a few questions.

1) can you place yourself on a norwood scale.
2) has your hairline receded at all? have your temples receded?
3) do you notice if your hair is growing back 'finer' , thinner?...

having more thinning on the right side isnt uncommon in male pattern baldness. a study revealed male pattern baldness to be assymetric with more loss on the right side.

You need to give it at least 12 months before you decide whether or not it is working for you.

Thank you for your reply! I will try to take pictures soon. All I have is a webcam.
No, I haven't really noticed any receding at all, really.
It's really hard to tell about thinning. Some days it feels/looks full, some days it doesnt.
