Seventeen and my temples are receding. NEED HELP!

Ok well im seven teen and sense i was in 8th grade i've always had my hair long (shown in first picture) But i just recently got my haircut because it was so annoying. (shown in the second picture) but everyone is telling me to just egt a buzzcut but i cant because im selfconcious about my receding temples. (shown in third picture) I just need to know what to do or how to cut my hair that it will still look good but they wont show. or a way to easily grow back that area. plz help

if you shave/buzz, be prepared to hate it for a while.
and don't be too surprised if other people say you look good when u think it looks terrible.
