Seeing lots of scalp...normal?

Lately ive noticed that I can see alot of scalp in the frontal area. I see it mostly when my hair is kind of "tossed" or messy there. I dont know if it was always like that or if im starting to thin there. I grabbed a mirror and decided to check the non male pattern baldness areas and compare and noticed that if I mess those areas up too, I see ALOT of scalp. So, im wondering is it normal to have naturally thin or fine hair? Im kind of hoping im not starting to thin in the front especially as im already on treatments...

My hair was thin and fine my whole life and I could pretty much always see scalp to some degree especially if it was longer. I don't think it's necessarily indicative of male pattern baldness, although it certainly can be. Do you detect any miniaturization of your frontal hair?

Hey, thanks for the reply
I just had a look and havnt spotted and minaturised hairs apart from the hairline where I have been applying rogain. Ive just been examining the hair on the rest of my head especially in the non male pattern baldness areas and when I parted the hair and brushed it different ways was shocked at how much scalp I could actually see. Either my hair has always been very thin and I never really paid much attention to it, or something else is cuasing me to thin out all over :dunno:

Well you are the only one who can answer that question as you are the only one who truely know your own hair. Some people have thicker hair and know if they naturally have fine or thin hair in the frontal region/scalp but to those who are not used to seeing this then of course it should be cause for alarm that you are losing ground! You shouldnt need the approval or agreement of those on a hairloss forum to confirm your suspicions. The only advice that I can give you is sometimes hair wax or gels can give the enhanced appearance of hair 'thinness' in areas which are subjected to being thinner then you are accustomed to and enhance this thinness effect which doesn't appear as much naturally. If this is so, then avoid those products.

Is this really a question that you need the answer for from us or is it a rhetorical question which doesn't really require a response.
