Hi.

male pattern baldness and Seb. dermatitis are two different things. Having Seb. dermatitis does not mean having male pattern baldness and vice-versa. Though many man with Seb. dermatitis have male pattern baldness.

I have the severe case of Seb. dermatitis. It started at 21 and never became good. Yesterday more flaking skin and bulk hair come out. It will take time to regrowth it (some 7 months).

To have an idea check out my story at end. It have one link with the rot and bloody flaking skin i'm talking about. It sucks.

I'm recovering, slowly, from last attack. Now i've very little rot skin on my scalp. I've using a shampoo for this case. But it makes me loose more hair.

But i hope that the future is bright.

zinc treats SB, but not male pattern baldness. So they are not related. And many people with SB don't have male pattern baldness.

male pattern baldness is genetic. But Nizoral does treat both.

Try using NO shampoo for a few days and see if there is any improvement.

I am wondering if your seb derm might be set off by some sort of external allergy. You might consider examining your diet to see if there might be a nutritional allergy that is setting it off.

I know I am grasping at straws here, but you never know...

I suppose the last resort is steroid treatment from a doctor.
