I am 19 years old, i have been on minoxidil(minoxidil) for about 6-7 months,2 months on finox(propecia/finasteride) i already got noticeable results at the front.
I have been using different kinds of schampoo, some of them made my hair very itchy, some made my hair fall, so i have been trying NIOXIN 2, which was recommended by my friend, but after one week of using my hair started falling again and getting very itchy, should i stop using it? should i switch to some other?

Tomorrow i will check Nizoral at the local pharmacy.(one time per week right)?

Thank you

I highly recommend to discontinue Nioxin. I've used their shampoos in the past and they don't do anything for hair loss whatsoever. Not only that, but their shampoos don't have any clinically proven ingredients to help treat hair loss.

About Nizoral, yes that shampoo actually helps hair loss because of the active ingredient in it which is Ketoconazole. Ketoconazole is the only ingredient found in any shampoo which contains it that has currently been proven scientifically to actually help with hair loss.

Yes, take action about adding a Ketoconazole shampoo into your regimen. I recommend to use a shampoo called 'Regenepure DR', it contains 1% Ketoconazole. You can use Nizoral, but I don't recommend it because it is very drying to the hair and scalp, especially that it doesn't have any ingredients to counteract its drying effects. On the other hand, Regenepure DR has water and aloe vera gel as its base ingredients, and is soothing to the scalp, that's why I recommend it.

I hope all goes well with your regimen. :)

Thanks for your response, about the Regenepure DR, i am pretty sure i won't find it anywhere where i live, but i will run up some stores around here, last resort is gonna be Nizoral.
But what should i use on the other days, since am going to stop using Nioxin 2?(i wash my hair 5-7 times per week, warm water not hot, then dry)

You can buy Regenepure on amazon or ebay but it is pretty expensive and for the price isn't really worth it when you can get nizoral at the local health store for £6 which is better.

But nizoral isn't for everyday use

No, Nizoral is not designed for everyday use. However, Regenepure DR is, so it's definitely a better option to go for.

What about revita or revivogen? seems to have the same effect(also uses Ketokonazole) cheaper with postage to portugal

Or does any product with Ketokonazole works the same way?

I don't have any problems with nizoral. I use the 2% every third day. I haven't noticed any drying effect on me. I alternate it with revivogen every day. I'm about to switch to revita because their is no Ketoconazole in the revivogen.

Revivogen doesn't have Ketoconazole, Revita does. Any shampoo with Ketoconazole will work the same way. The difference is how scalp friendly the Ketoconazole shampoo is. Like I put in my previous post, go for Regenepure DR if you want the better option to go for.

Alright, thanks for the input, tomorrow i will run up the stores and check if they have Regenepure DR or revita like iopu stated, if they don't have, i try and make a list of Ketoconazole products.
Thanks alot, more suggestions are welcome
