Scary sudden hair loss advice plz!!

This is all pretty new to me. About 2 months ago my hair started getting really thin so I cut it to about shoulder length, which seemed to help but about 3 weeks ago it just started falling out like crazy mostly at the back on the right side then within days I barely had much hair over the entire back of my head. I hadn't used any chemicals or much heat or anything new in my hair just the 100% coconut oil, so I'm not sure what's causing this. It's been 3 weeks now and I'm trying not to panic although it has gotten much worse and even my edges in the front are thinning. I've scheduled an appointment to see a DR. but I'm a bit freaked out now. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

if it's some kind of alopecia areata use garlic oil. but i'm not a doctor so don't trust me. Get well soon.

actually that doesn't remind me of areata. areata makes hair to fall in certain places that these places with no hair can be anywhere like bald spots coin sized and she is talking about the edges that could be telogen effluvium too

I've never experienced anything quite like your story but I wanted to assure you you're doing the right thing by seeing a doctor. The only way to treat a potential problem is to properly diagnose it. I'm learning this now with my current scalp conditions. Best of luck to you!

You need to see a specialist about your problem. Do you experience this thinning only on the back of your head or somewhere else as well. This probably needs some correct diagnosis to be treated correctly. I hope it goes away soon though!
