Scared To Start finasteride With My Hair Type..

Hey guys,

I feel minoxidil had a good effect on temple strengthening however was detrimental to my density and quality of hair where I applied it. To having strong curls to wiry and thin and brittle hair.

I’ve been prescribed topical finasteride to begin with but am hesistant that it could make my hair even worse, I still have a good amount of hair at themoment, I’m aware of this.

But I always see people say how they wished they had started finasteride earlier but also see some with this brittle looking hair saying treatments made it worse.

So I’m wondering if it’s a good shout with my hair, or if anyone has had this kind of hair and it improved with finasteride.

I have posted before, but this is a progressed situation now.

Your hair looks fine to me atm, you could wait for a while then start finasteride, monitor it every 3 months and if it gets any worse then consider taking finasteride.

Thankyou but I can’t seem to show in pics how brittle and thin some of the front has gone which I know is the beginning of male pattern baldness. So of course I want to prevent, but at the same time also don’t wanna kick start things either... which is what I have heard some accounts saying.

I think I might do, I’m on minoxidil and Dermarolling to attempt to thicken the brittle wiry hair at the front of my scalp but just seems to be getting worse. But perhaps I will monitor some more.

finasteride will keep you hair but will make your penis worse. i dont think it will make your hair worse though, it didnt for me.

I'm on finasteride and dutasteride. I've had no sides. I wake up with wood everyday. And my sex drive is high. Dont worry

I don’t think it has that much different effect to normal finasteride, my Dr assured me. That gives me some hope, my concern is that my texture seems to already have changed with minoxidil. But thank you!
